About Commodore 64 Chuckie Egg 2

Chuckie Egg 2, the follow-up to the 1983 hit game Chuckie Egg, boasts a vast game world with 120 screens laid out in a 10×12 grid, starting from the top left. The game introduces a variety of moving objects; some are deadly upon contact, while others catapult Harry across the screen. It’s set in a factory divided into distinct zones, each with a unique theme. Players collect milk in a frosty ice zone, cocoa in a purple zone populated mostly by monkeys, sugar in an industrial blue zone, and a toy in a brick zone reminiscent of the original game’s setting. The egg maker, requiring all these ingredients plus the toy to operate, is situated in a notorious area filled with treacherously ‘slippery’ pipes leading to fatal falls.

The game features several transition zones connecting these key areas. Thanks to its open-ended design, players can skip many of these zones to successfully complete the game.

Upon delivering the final product, the game resets but ups the ante with more monsters and a new toy for assembly. The sequence of toys includes a motorbike, a vintage car, a yacht, and a space shuttle.

Scoring in Chuckie Egg 2 rewards players for exploring new screens for the first time and for collecting various items like fruit, tools, and eggs scattered throughout. However, the points awarded for these pickups vary, both across different screens and in each playthrough.
