About Commodore 64 David’s Midnight Magic
“David’s Midnight Magic” is a colorful pinball simulation game that can be played by up to four participants. The game includes standard pinball features such as roll-overs and multiball play. Players can nudge the pinball table by pressing a designated key, but excessive force leads to a ‘TILT.’ The outcome largely depends on the player’s skill and experience. The pinball machine has a straightforward design with limited bouncing and rebound mechanisms, minimizing the role of chance.
Design Features:
The game showcases a brief animation from “David’s Midnight Magic.” The playfield is divided into two distinct halves, each with a set of flippers. The sound effects are basic. The ball’s movement and bouncing dynamics are programmed to mimic realistic behavior.
Gameplay Mechanics:
1. Multiball Collector (Yellow): Players can score 10,000 points, 10 bonus points, and an extra ball by hitting the collector, indicated by yellow arrows. After collecting three balls, all are released simultaneously. When the last ball exits through a side lane, all balls in the collector are released (Last-Chance-Play).
2. Multiball Activator (Yellow): Releases all collected balls, awarding 5,000 points and 5 bonus points per release.
3. Bonus Multiplier (Red): Enhances bonus point calculations after losing a ball. Each calculation awards 1,000 points per bonus point. On the fifth activation, players receive an extra ball instead of increased bonus points.
4. “Magic Save” (Green): Allows players to use a magnet to retrieve the ball after hitting specific targets. Each row of targets grants 2,000 points and 2 bonus points.
Additional Scoring Opportunities:
– Hitting all 5 upper targets: 5,000 points or 5 bonus points. Targets reset afterward.
– Hitting all 3 upper-right targets: 3,000 points or 3 bonus points. Targets reset.
– Orange targets: 250 points each.
– White bumper (with apple): 500 points.
– Lower side kickers: 300 points.
Keyboard Controls:

– SHIFT (Right): Right flipper.
– SPACE: Nudge table (tilt).

– M, , , ., /: Activate right magnet (magic save).
