About Commodore 64 Hunter’s Moon
Hunter’s Moon is a shoot ’em up game developed by Martin Walker for the Commodore 64 and released by Thalamus in 1987. The soundtrack was composed by Matt Gray.
The game features 16 starmaps with a total of 128 levels. Each level is set in a void where two-dimensional cities are constructed by “worker cells.” These worker cells are invulnerable, but the bricks they drop can be temporarily destroyed with the player’s ship’s weapons. The objective is to collect enough star cells within the cities to progress to the next level. If players collect enough star cells within a tight time limit (shown in the lower score table), they can skip the remaining levels in the current star system, allowing skilled players to advance more quickly.
