About Commodore 64 Hawkeye
In “Hawkeye” for the Commodore 64, each level is an intricate tapestry of interconnected screens, allowing for seamless scrolling back and forth. It’s a strategy worth considering: even after you’ve gathered all the puzzle pieces, retracing your steps might lead you to stumble upon helpful extras hidden within the level. The game ramps up in difficulty as you progress, yet it maintains a fair challenge; I personally reached level 11 and believe it’s entirely feasible to complete the game without resorting to cheats.
As you navigate through the levels, you’ll occasionally encounter large, formidable foes. In these moments, the situation dictates your strategy β sometimes it’s wise to deploy your heavier weaponry to overcome these significant challenges.

Hawkeye C64 keyboard mapping
When you start a game, each joystick port is automatically turned on. Sometimes this causes a problem as the joystick port is mapped to the keys below. If a game uses these keys, you need to turn off the joystick ports.
