About Commodore 64 Pacman

In 1983, Namco released the first Commodore 64 adaptation of the iconic 1980 arcade game, Pac-Man, under the brand Arialosoft. The game features a yellow, smiley character known as Pac-Man, whose objective is to devour all dots within a maze. Simultaneously, Pac-Man must evade four unique ghosts: Blinky (also known as Shadow), Pinky (Speedy), Inky (Bashful), and Clyde (Pokey), who disrupt his dot-eating journey and can cost him a life upon contact.

Pac-Man can navigate to the opposite side of the maze via tunnels located on the peripheries, which can help confuse the ghostly adversaries. In addition, there are four energy points within the maze that, when consumed, enable Pac-Man to momentarily scare off and devour the ghosts. Every couple of minutes, bonus fruits manifest at Pac-Man’s initial position, providing an extra scoring opportunity.

A level is considered completed once all the dots have been consumed. As the game progresses, the speed of the ghosts increases, necessitating quicker reactions and strategic navigation from the player.
